Directions

Take I-25 between Albuquerque and Santa Fe.  Take Exit 259 to Cochiti Lake.  Travel past Santa Domino Pueblo and past Cochiti Dam.  Just after passing the dam, turn right at the sign that says Cochiti Lake Recreation Area.  Go straight (do not turn right to drive over the dam) towards the lake and boat launch, until you come to a stop sign.  Turn right at the stop sign and travel the gravel road until it ends (ca. 1/4 mile) at the lake and recreational area.  There is a restroom and swimming area.  Look for the canoes.  Driving time from Albuquerque is approximately 60 minutes.

CANOEING

Recreational basic canoe classes are offered at Cochiti Lake between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico, taught by American Canoe Association certified instructors. Canoe equipment and boating gear is provided. Participants bring personal water bottle, sunscreen, hat, all-weather clothing, a change of clothing and personal lunch.
